The Buffalo Bills Stampede Past the Seattle Seahawks: A Sunday Showdown Recap

Buffalo Bills Dominate Over Seattle Seahawks in a Sunday Showdown

Josh Allen, the red-hot quarterback of the Buffalo Bills, tossed two touchdown passes, and an interception was quickly forgotten as the Bills crushed the Seattle Seahawks 31-10 this past Sunday. James Cook, the Bills’ running back, contributed 117 yards and two touchdowns, cementing the AFC East-leading Bills’ (6-2) third consecutive victory. In stark contrast, the Seahawks were riddled with internal discord, including two defensive linemen clashing on their own sideline.

Allen’s Commanding Performance

Allen completed 24 out of 34 passes, amassing 283 yards. He extended his streak of passes without an interception to an impressive 300 before Josh Jobe intercepted him in the second quarter. However, the Seahawks (4-4) squandered the chance, turning the ball over on downs following the interception, with Geno Smith, their quarterback, tripping after the snap on fourth-and-goal from the 1.

Allen acknowledged the importance of the play, stating, “That was huge. I hate throwing turnovers, but I made the tackle. Coach talks about all the time if something like that happens, not to put your head down. Go make a tackle and let your defense come back on the field because you never know what’s going to happen.”

Buffalo’s Stellar Offense

Allen spearheaded a 12-play, 93-yard drive that culminated with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Dalton Kincaid, securing a 14-3 lead for the Bills. The Bills also covered 90 yards on 14 plays after the opening kickoff, and Allen connected with Keon Coleman for a 2-yard TD to wrap up a drive that spanned 9:07. The Bills etched their name into NFL history by becoming the first team since 2022 to execute two TD drives of 90 yards or more in a half.

Buffalo dominated Seattle in terms of yardage, amassing 445 yards to Seattle’s 233 and controlled the ball for over 38 minutes. “We feel like every play we come out there and execute at a high level, I don’t think anybody really can stop us but ourselves,” Coleman stated confidently.

Seattle’s Struggles

For the Seahawks, Smith completed 21 of 29 passes for 212 yards, but also threw an interception. The Seahawks’ offensive struggles were glaring; they only managed to rush for 32 yards and their sole touchdown was scored in garbage time.

Seattle’s coach, Mike Macdonald, lamented the team’s performance, stating, “The long and short of it is we got outplayed, we got outcoached, and we’ve got to go make it right.”

Upcoming Games

The Buffalo Bills will be playing host to Miami on Sunday, while the Seattle Seahawks will be hosting the Los Angeles Rams. Both teams will be looking to build on this week’s results in their upcoming games.
