Tampa Bay Buccaneers Adjust Roster Amid Injury Woes: Key Players Sidelined for Denver Broncos Match

Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Roster Revamp: Key Players Absent for Upcoming Denver Broncos Face-off

Buccaneers Update Roster Amidst Injuries

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made necessary changes to their team roster following injuries to defensive tackle Vita Vea and wide receiver Kameron Johnson. Both players have been ruled out for the impending game against the Denver Broncos.

Vea sustained a Grade 2 MCL sprain to his right knee during last week’s match against the Detroit Lions, resulting in him missing two days of practice. Despite attempting to practice on his injured knee on Friday, it was later determined that he was unfit to play.

Johnson, too, suffered an ankle injury and despite an attempt to practice on Wednesday, was eventually listed as doubtful. By Saturday, it was clear that both players were not fit to play.

Buccaneers Elevate Players to Fill the Gap

To compensate for these losses, the Buccaneers have promoted defensive lineman Mike Greene for the third consecutive week and wide receiver Sterling Shepard for the first time this season.

Additionally, the team signed defensive lineman C.J. Brewer, who has been moved up from the practice squad to the 53-man roster over the past two weeks. As part of these changes, cornerback Keenan Isaac was waived.

Current Injury Landscape for the Buccaneers

The Buccaneers have been dealing with a series of injuries among their key players. Vita Vea’s counterpart, 2023 first-round draft pick Calijah Kancey, has been absent for the first two games and is set to miss Week 3 due to a left calf injury.

Starting right tackle Luke Goedeke will also sit out his second consecutive game due to a concussion. All-Pro safety Antoine Winfield Jr. is another casualty and will be absent for his second game in a row due to an ankle/foot injury.
