Jacksonville Jaguars’ RB Travis Etienne Battles Hamstring Injury on a Week-to-Week Basis
Update on Jacksonville Jaguars’ Player, Travis Etienne Jr.
As the Jaguars gear up for their next games, they face the possibility of playing without their top running back Travis Etienne Jr. for an unspecified period. The announcement was made by Coach Doug Pederson on Monday, revealing that Etienne’s status is evaluated on a week-to-week basis due to a hamstring injury. The injury occurred during the Jaguars’ 35-16 defeat against the Chicago Bears at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
Impact of Travis Etienne Jr.’s Absence
Before his early exit from the game, Etienne had three attempts at a run, resulting in a loss of one yard, and made one catch for no gain. Pederson confirmed that the injury took place during a deep pass route. Etienne, who has been the Jaguars’ second-highest rusher with 230 yards and an average of 4.1 yards per carry, also has 16 catches to his credit for 91 yards. In his absence, the responsibility is expected to shift to the second-year player Tank Bigsby. Bigsby, who leads the Jaguars in rushing (297 yards) with an NFL-best average of 7.2 yards per carry, is predicted to be the lead back, supported by the experienced D’Ernest Johnson, who has 67 yards rushing.
