Derrick Henry Storms the Field with an Impressive 87-yard Touchdown on Ravens’ Opening Play
Derrick Henry’s Record-Setting Run
The Baltimore Ravens’ running back Derrick Henry made a remarkable record during the Sunday night game against the Buffalo Bills. On the very first play, Henry took advantage of a massive opening on the right side of the line to sprint 87 yards untouched for a touchdown. This feat marked the longest run in the Ravens’ 29-year history.
Derrick Henry’s Stellar Performance
After a sluggish beginning to the season, Henry has found his rhythm with Baltimore. This record-breaking touchdown followed his season-high gain of 151 yards in the previous week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. Despite his age, 30-year-old Henry displayed impressive speed during the touchdown run, reaching a speed of 21.29 miles per hour. This speed ties for the fourth-fastest by a ball-carrier in the current season, according to NFL Next Gen Stats.
Since 2018, this is Henry’s eighth-fastest speed. This particular game also marked Henry’s third career rushing touchdown of at least 85 yards, tying him with Lamar Miller for the second-most since 2000. The only player with more is Chris Johnson, who boasts four such touchdowns.
