Browns’ Star Chubb Anticipated to Make a Comeback in Week 7 Against Bengals

Anticipated Season Debut of Cleveland Browns’ Nick Chubb

Chubb’s Return from Injury and Progress in Practice

Following a significant knee injury which necessitated dual surgeries last year, Browns’ star running back Nick Chubb is expected to make his season debut in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to a source. Chubb, who was on the physically unable to perform list at the start of the season, has been practicing for the previous fortnight but was not cleared to play in Week 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, Chubb has been gradually increasing his practice intensity this week.

Coach Kevin Stefanski’s Comments on Chubb’s Progress

Browns’ head coach Kevin Stefanski praised Chubb’s progress, saying on Friday, “He seems to be improving every day. He’s doing well in the scout team and when he’s taking reps within the offense. So, his progress is continual.”

Chubb’s History and Impact as a Player

Chubb, who will be 29 in December, suffered the season-ending knee injury during a “Monday Night Football” game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second week of the 2023 season. The first surgical procedure in late September repaired his medial capsule, meniscus, and MCL, followed by a second surgery in November to mend his ACL. Notably, Chubb also experienced a left MCL, PCL, and LCL tear back in 2015 while playing for the University of Georgia.

A four-time Pro Bowl pick, Chubb achieved 1,000 yards rushing in four consecutive seasons before 2023, with his personal best of 1,525 yards in 2022. The news of Chubb’s expected return in Week 7 was first reported by Cleveland.com.
