Wyatt Teller, Cleveland Browns Right Guard, Sidelined Due to Injury
On Wednesday, the Cleveland Browns announced that their right guard, Wyatt Teller, has been put on injured reserve, ruling him out for at least the upcoming four games. Teller suffered a knee injury during the third quarter of the game against the New York Giants this past Sunday. Cleveland’s coach, Kevin Stefanski, had already hinted on Monday that Teller would be out for “multiple weeks”. Despite being a three-time Pro Bowl pick, Teller has only missed three games in the last three seasons combined.
Zak Zinter Expected to Start as Right Guard in Upcoming Game
Zak Zinter, a third-round pick, who stepped in for Teller in the game against the Giants, is predicted to start as right guard in the match against the Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday.
The Cleveland Browns’ Offensive Line Faces Multiple Injuries
Teller’s injury was just one of several that hit the Browns’ offensive line this past Sunday, leading to a major reshuffle of the unit. The team lost Jedrick Wills Jr. (knee) and James Hudson III (shoulder) due to injuries. Dawand Jones was also taken out after halftime due to a knee injury, according to coach Stefanski, but was brought back into the game when Hudson was injured.
Changes to the Browns’ Roster Following Injuries
In response to the injury crisis, the Browns promoted offensive tackle Germain Ifedi from their practice squad to the active roster on Wednesday. They also added two additional tackles, Sebastian Gutierrez and Ricky Lee III, to their practice squad.
Coach Stefanski’s Announcement on Myles Garrett’s Status
Despite Myles Garrett, the Browns’ defensive end, dealing with multiple injuries including to his feet, Achilles, and thigh, coach Stefanski mentioned on Wednesday that he doesn’t foresee Garrett missing the game against the Raiders.
