49ers Running Back Jordan Mason Suffers AC Joint Sprain
49ers’ Top Rusher Jordan Mason Suffers AC Joint Sprain
On October 11th, Jordan Mason, the San Francisco 49ers running back and currently the NFL’s top rusher, was reported to have sustained a sprained AC joint. The injury occurred during the 49ers’ Thursday night victory against Seattle. However, this setback is not expected to be serious, according to sources.
Mason’s Injury and Performance
In the first half of the 36-24 victory over the Seahawks, Mason experienced a left shoulder injury. He was able to return for one carry at the beginning of the third quarter, but he was only able to participate in an emergency situation for the remainder of the match.
Post-Injury Stats
Despite this setback, Mason completed the game with impressive stats. He rushed 73 yards on nine carries and managed to catch a pass for an additional 9 yards. So far this season, Mason has accumulated a total of 609 rushing yards from 114 carries.
49ers’ Injury Woes Continue
Unfortunately, the 49ers are no strangers to injuries this season. They’re already missing key players such as running back Christian McCaffrey, who is out with Achilles tendinitis; linebacker Dre Greenlaw and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, both with torn Achilles, and safety Talanoa Hufanga, who has torn wrist ligaments. It’s yet another blow to the team, but they continue to demonstrate resilience in the face of adversity.
