Saints’ Star, Paulson Adebo, Ruled Out for the Season Following Surgery
Paulson Adebo’s Injury and Recovery
In an unfortunate turn of events, Saints cornerback, Paulson Adebo, is looking at a recovery time of four to five months following an operation to mend his shattered femur. Adebo, who is set to become a free agent once the new league year commences on March 12, sustained the injury in a recent game against the Denver Broncos.
The Incident
During a valiant attempt to assist a teammate in making a tackle, Adebo broke his femur. Upon hitting the ground, Adebo clutched his leg, prompting immediate medical attention and a vacuum cast fitting. He was quickly evacuated from the field on a cart.
Implications and Repercussions
Following Adebo’s injury, rookie cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry, a second-round pick this year, was called up to fill Adebo’s spot. McKinstry is expected to maintain this position for the remainder of the season. Sadly, Adebo isn’t the only Saint sidelined due to injury this week; All-Pro kick returner and wide receiver, Rashid Shaheed, also underwent a meniscus repair surgery and will be out for the season.
The Saints’ Injury Crisis
The Saints are currently battling a wave of injuries, with multiple key players, including quarterback Derek Carr (oblique), tight end Taysom Hill (rib), wide receiver Chris Olave (concussion), linebacker Pete Werner (hamstring) and three starting offensive linemen, out of action. As per Saints coach Dennis Allen, the team is doing its best to overcome the demoralizing impact of these injuries, citing that, “It certainly can be, and that’s something we have to be able to fight through. That’s the tough part of our business is seeing things like that. It can be difficult.”
