Quad Injury Sidelines Titans Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed for Lions Match-up
Tennessee Titans’ Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed Ruled Out For Upcoming Game
L’Jarius Sneed’s Injury Update
According to an announcement made on October 25, 2024, Tennessee Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed will not be partaking in the upcoming Sunday game against the Detroit Lions. The news was confirmed by Titans’ coach Brian Callahan. Sneed sustained a quad injury after a knee hit in Tennessee’s Week 6 defeat against the Indianapolis Colts. Regrettably, Sneed has been absent from practice since the incident and also missed last week’s game against the Buffalo Bills.
Details About Sneed’s Injury
Coach Callahan revealed that Sneed’s injury recovery has been slower than initially expected. “The imaging we received confirmed that it’s more serious than just a bruise, which is why it’s taking longer to heal,” Callahan stated. The Titans obtained Sneed from the Kansas City Chiefs in return for a 2025 third-round pick. Following the trade, the Titans promptly signed him to a four-year contract worth $76.4 million.
Cornerback Updates for The Titans
This news comes after the Titans’ signing of veteran cornerback Chidobe Awuzie to a three-year, $36 million deal at the onset of free agency. Unfortunately, neither Awuzie nor Sneed will be available for the Titans in the forthcoming game. Rookie Jarvis Brownlee Jr. has been filling in for the injured Awuzie, who has been on the injured reserve list due to a groin injury sustained in Week 3. Similarly, Cornerback Darrell Baker Jr. stepped in for Sneed in last week’s game. The Titans also promoted rookie Gabe Jeudy-Lally from the practice squad for the previous week’s match.
