Atlanta Falcons’ Offensive Line Faces Setbacks as Drew Dalman Sits Out
Injury Occurred During Game Against Kansas City Chiefs
Dalman, who is expected to be a free agent at the end of this season, suffered the injury during the second quarter of Sunday’s night game against the Kansas City Chiefs. His backup, Ryan Neuzil, stepped in for him. Following Dalman’s exit, the Falcons initially struggled, with two consecutive fumbles by Kirk Cousins. However, the team eventually rebounded, with Cousins stating that he anticipates benefitting from more practice time with Neuzil, a hint that he knew Dalman would be out for a while.
Additional Injury to Right Tackle Kaleb McGary
The Falcons also lost right tackle Kaleb McGary in the second quarter due to a knee injury. Raheem Morris, Falcons’ coach, stated that more information on both injuries would be provided later in the week.
New Signings to the Falcons’ Offensive Line
In response to these injuries, the Falcons enlisted veteran offensive lineman Elijah Wilkinson to their 53-man roster and added offensive lineman Matt Hennessy to their practice squad on Tuesday. Wilkinson, previously a member of the practice squad, and Hennessy both have prior experience starting games for the Falcons and are familiar with offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford’s system.
