Arizona Cardinals’ Rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. Clears NFL’s Concussion Protocol
Recovery and Return of Marvin Harrison Jr.
Jonathan Gannon, the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, confirmed on Saturday that the team’s rookie wide receiver, Marvin Harrison Jr., will be back on the field for Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Harrison Jr. recently cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol.
The promising receiver was able to fully participate in Friday’s practice session, after a limited participation on Thursday, Arizona’s first practice of the week. During Thursday’s practice, he wore a yellow noncontact jersey as a precautionary measure. Coach Gannon noted that Harrison Jr. had an effective week of practice and is “ready to go.”
A Look Back at the Incident
Harrison Jr.’s injury occurred during Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers. In the second quarter, with 6:28 remaining, Harrison Jr.’s head collided with the thigh of linebacker Isaiah McDuffie. The Cardinals’ medical crew assisted Harrison off the field, where he was immediately examined in the blue injury tent. Subsequently, he was escorted to the locker room by a team of trainers and physicians. Shortly after the commencement of the second half, Harrison Jr. was officially ruled out of the game.
