Tennessee Titans’ Receiver Treylon Burks Out for Upcoming Buffalo Bills Game

According to information shared by Titans’ coach Brian Callahan, the team will have to face the Buffalo Bills without their wide receiver, Treylon Burks. Burks unfortunately sustained a knee injury during Thursday’s practice.

The Implications of Burks’ Injury

Coach Callahan spoke on Friday, stating that the Titans were in the process of understanding the severity of the injury. The initial prognosis, however, points towards a serious issue that might necessitate placing Burks on injured reserve. “It has the potential for an extended period of absence,” Callahan hinted, stating that further input from doctors was awaited.

Team Roster Adjustments

The Titans’ 53-man roster presently includes six receivers. Coach Callahan mentioned that the team would proceed with five receivers as the practice squad elevations would be utilized for other positions. Specifically, defensive tackle and running back positions need to be filled since Keondre Coburn and Tyjae Spears are ruled out.

Burks’ Contribution to the Titans

In his five games this season, Burks was on the field for 142 (48%) offensive snaps. He also contributed to the kick return team. The Titans picked Burks as the 18th selection in the 2022 draft. Over three seasons, he has made 53 catches, accumulating 699 yards and scoring one touchdown. This year alone, he has achieved four receptions for 34 yards.
