Saints Linebacker, Demario Davis, Set to Miss His Debut Match Against Falcons
Key Player Absences for the New Orleans Saints Ahead of Atlanta Falcons Clash
Demario Davis and the Unfortunate Injury
Saints’ star linebacker, Demario Davis, will be absent in the upcoming game against the Atlanta Falcons. This information was confirmed by the Saints’ coach, Dennis Allen. With an injured hamstring, Davis is expected to miss his first career game due to physical injury. His only other absence in his 13-season career was back in 2021, when he, along with 19 other Saints players, had to miss a game due to COVID-19 protocols.
Other Absences in the Saints’ Lineup
However, the Saints, currently holding a 2-1 record, are not only missing Davis. Starting center Erik McCoy, who recently underwent groin surgery, and right guard Cesar Ruiz, with a knee injury, will also be unavailable for the match against the Falcons. McCoy’s absence was felt just three snaps into last week’s game, prompting Lucas Patrick to switch from left guard to fill the center position.
Returning Players: Alvin Kamara and Taysom Hill
In brighter news, Alvin Kamara, dealing with hip and rib injuries, and Taysom Hill, recovering from a chest injury, both returned to practice on Friday. Hill had to leave during Week 2’s game against the Cowboys due to his injury and sat out the following week. However, Coach Allen expressed optimism earlier in the week about Hill’s recovery, stating he expects him to be fit to play against the Falcons.
