Harty, who earned a Pro Bowl returner title earlier in his career, was added to the injured reserve list this Saturday, meaning he will have to sit out for four weeks.

John Harbaugh Discusses Harty’s Injury

Ravens coach, John Harbaugh revealed that Harty has been struggling with a knee problem. Consequently, Harty was unable to participate in the week’s practice sessions. In his inaugural season with the Ravens, Harty hasn’t made a significant dent in the return game. He currently sits at 13th position in the NFL with a 10.6-yard average on punt returns, while holding the second spot in the team with a 24.5-yard average on kickoff returns.

Impact of Harty’s Absence and Possible Replacement

With Harty being out of commission, the Ravens are likely to put their faith in Tylan Wallace for handling punt returns. Last season, Wallace had a memorable 76-yard punt return for a touchdown in overtime, contributing to the Ravens’ victory over the Rams by 37-31. Harty, who started his career with the New Orleans Saints, made it to the Pro Bowl as a returner in his rookie season in 2019. Following four seasons with the Saints, Harty played for the Bills last season before signing a one-year contract for $1.292 million with the Ravens.
