James Cook of the Bills Ready to Battle Titans, Ray Davis’ Status Remains Uncertain
Buffalo Bills James Cook Set for Comeback Against Titans Following Toe Injury
Buffalo Bills’ James Cook Returns to the Field
Buffalo Bills’ running back James Cook is slated to rejoin the team in their forthcoming clash with the Tennessee Titans. Cook was sidelined in the team’s victorious match against the New York Jets last week due to a toe injury. However, the final injury report of the week from the Bills lists Cook without an injury designation, indicating his full participation in Thursday and Friday’s practice sessions. The toe injury occurred during the Bills’ Week 5 defeat to the Houston Texans.
The Game Plan for Jets Monday Night
There was an expectation for Cook to partake in the workout before the Monday night Jets game, but the final decision deemed him unfit to contribute to the team’s performance. In Cook’s absence, running back Ray Davis filled the gap and emerged as the team’s top rusher and receiver, registering 97 yards from 20 carries and 55 yards from 3 catches.
Ray Davis: Questionable for Sunday’s Game
Ray Davis, however, is doubtful for Sunday’s game (1 p.m. ET, CBS), the first at Orchard Park in nearly a month, due to a calf injury. “The injury surfaced towards the end of the game,” coach Sean McDermott explained on Friday. “Initially, we didn’t think it was serious, but during yesterday’s practice, it became apparent again. We’ll see how he performs today and decide accordingly.” Davis had limited participation in Thursday and Friday’s practices.
Buffalo Bills’ Health Update
The Bills appear to be regaining their health, with no starters listed with injury designations. This includes defensive tackle Ed Oliver (hamstring), who is expected to return after missing two games. Safety Mike Edwards’ participation is uncertain due to illness, and running back Darrynton Evans (hamstring), despite being on injured reserve, is doubtful for the game, even though he has been practicing.
