Experienced Lineman Jason Peters Joins Seahawks Practice Squad
Seattle Seahawks Reinforce Practice Squad with Pro Bowler Jason Peters
The news was confirmed on Tuesday by Elite Loyalty Sports, the representatives of veteran offensive tackle Jason Peters. Peters, who has been selected for the Pro Bowl nine times, has inked a deal to join the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad.
Seattle Seahawks Grappling with Injuries
The decision is tactical, as the Seahawks are currently grappling with injuries at the right tackle position. The team’s preferred first choice, Abraham Lucas, has been placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, while George Fant, the second-string right tackle, has moved to the injured reserve list.
Fant is mandated to sit out a minimum of two more games due to his injury, with Lucas expected to be ready for play no earlier than midseason.
Peters’ NFL Journey and Achievements
Peters, who is 42 years old and has a rich NFL career spanning 19 seasons, previously played eight games with the Seahawks in the preceding season, with two starts. He has also played for the Buffalo Bills (2004-08), Philadelphia Eagles (2009-20), Chicago Bears (2021), and Dallas Cowboys (2022).
His illustrious career includes winning the Super Bowl with the Eagles in the 2017 season. Out of the 248 games he’s played, Peters has started in 221. Acknowledging his prowess and significant contributions to the game, he was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s All-Decade Team for the 2010s.
